# About topin

topin is a place to prepare for the GRE, TOEFL, IELTS and GMAT: full-length mock tests timed and scored like the real exam, practice questions with explanations, marked essays and Speaking, and a tracker that shows where your points go. Your first mock for each exam is free.

## Who builds it

topin is built by Ashrith Sathu, an independent founder in India. You can find Ashrith on [X](https://x.com/sathuashrith), and every email to [support@topin.app](mailto:support@topin.app) is read by a person.

## How the content is made

* Every mock and practice question is original, written to each exam's published format, timing and scoring, and checked against its answer key before it ships.
* Facts about the exams (formats, score scales, percentiles) come from the test makers: ETS, GMAC and the IELTS partners. Our guides link their sources.
* Comparisons with other prep options use each company's own website, with the date we checked it.
* Essays and Speaking are marked against the official band descriptors, with feedback on what to improve. Scores are estimates to guide your practice, not official results.
