# Bluebook SAT Practice Tests: How to Use Them | topin

SAT guidesHow to use Bluebook practice tests

## Which tests are available

As of autumn 2026 the SAT practice tests in Bluebook are Tests 4 to 11\. Tests 1 to 3 were retired in February 2025, Tests 7 to 10 were added in 2025 and Test 11 in February 2026\. According to prep teachers who have compared them, only Test 7 of the 2025 additions was entirely new; Tests 8 to 10 reuse a large number of questions from the retired tests. Each is full length and adaptive, with the same tools as test day, and your results appear in My Practice with a question-by-question review.

## How hard each test feels

College Board does not rank its tests, but students and tutors broadly agree on a rough order, from hardest to easiest: Test 11, Test 6, Test 5, Test 7, Test 10, Test 8, Test 9, Test 4\. Some tutors report that Tests 8 and 9 score 20 to 40 points higher in Math than real tests, and many students say real tests felt harder than practice, especially Math module 2\. Take those as anecdotes, but do not plan around your easiest practice score.

## When to take them

* Do not spend an official test as your first diagnostic if you have fewer than six weeks; use another full-length mock for the baseline instead.
* Space the official tests across your final month or two, with at least a few days of review between them.
* Save one of the harder tests, such as 11 or 6, for one to two weeks before test day as a realistic check.
* Take each one in one sitting at your real test time, with the break, and do not move on from modules early: on test day you cannot.

## What to use in between

* College Board's question bank and the official Khan Academy SAT course for targeted skill practice.
* Original full-length mocks from prep providers, to practise timing and the adaptive structure without using up official tests.
* An error log from every test, reviewed before the next one.

topin has eight full-length SAT mocks, each with an easier and a harder module 2 in both sections, original questions written to the official specifications, and explanations for every question. The first is free. They are not official College Board tests, so use them alongside Bluebook rather than instead of it.
