Add your four section bands and divide by four, then round to the nearest half band. An average ending in .25 rounds up to the next half band and one ending in .75 rounds up to the next whole band, so 6.25 becomes 6.5 and 6.75 becomes 7.0. What band is 30 out of 40 in IELTS Listening? 30 correct answers is usually band 7.0 in Listening. The exact conversion can move by a mark between test versions, so treat it as a close estimate. What band is 30 out of 40 in IELTS Academic Reading? 30 correct answers is usually band 7.0 in Academic Reading. General Training Reading uses a different, stricter table, so this calculator is for the Academic test. How is IELTS Writing scored? Each task is marked on four criteria and given a band. Task 2 counts twice as much as Task 1, so a 6.0 in Task 1 and 7.0 in Task 2 works out to 6.5 for Writing. Are these conversion tables official?
