# Privacy Policy

topin helps you prepare for the GRE, TOEFL, IELTS and GMAT. This policy explains what we collect when you use topin.app, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. Questions: [support@topin.app](mailto:support@topin.app).

## What we collect

* **Your account:** when you sign in with Google, your name, email address and profile picture. We never see your Google password.
* **Your study plan:** the exams you choose, your test date window, target score and daily study time.
* **Your work:** your answers to mock and practice questions, essays you write, the audio you record for Speaking sections, timings, scores and the feedback we give you.
* **Payments:** what you bought and when. Card and billing details are handled by our payment provider; we never receive your card number.
* **How you found us:** the page you arrived on and any campaign tags in the link (for example from an ad), stored in a first-party cookie and saved with your account.
* **Usage and device data:** pages viewed and basic device and browser information, through analytics where it is enabled, and security logs such as IP addresses.

## Why we use it

* To run your account and give you your mocks, practice and progress.
* To mark your answers, essays and Speaking responses and explain your results.
* To process payments and give you access to what you bought.
* To keep topin secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
* To understand which pages and campaigns work, so we can improve topin.

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use your work to train anyone's models.

## Who processes it for us

We use a small number of trusted service providers, in these categories:

* Sign-in and analytics providers.
* Our payment provider, for checkout, payments, invoices and tax.
* Providers that help us mark essays and transcribe Speaking recordings.
* Hosting, database and file storage providers.
* An error-monitoring provider, so we can find and fix crashes.
* An email provider, for account and purchase emails.
* A messaging service that notifies our team of new sign-ups and purchases, including your name, email and approximate location.
* Network and security providers that protect the service from abuse.

They process data only to provide their service to us. Some are outside your country; where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for the list of providers at the address above.

## Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your timezone and where you came from, and, where enabled, for analytics. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are off by default until you allow them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice by clearing your cookies for topin.app.

## How long we keep it

We keep your account and your work while your account is open, so your history and progress stay available. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Security logs are kept for a short period.

## Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing [support@topin.app](mailto:support@topin.app). Deleting your account removes your profile, answers, recordings and progress. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

## Children

topin is meant for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from younger children.

## Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
