## How it works

A scenario explains who is interviewing you, such as a researcher studying student life. The first questions ask about your own experience; the later ones ask for your opinion on a wider issue, which needs reasons and support. Each answer starts recording as soon as the question ends.

## Worked example

Scenario: A researcher is studying how students use technology for learning. You hear: "Some people say students learn better from printed books than from screens. Do you agree or disagree? Why?"

Show the answer

I mostly agree, at least for serious study. When I read a printed textbook, I find it much easier to concentrate, because there are no notifications popping up. For example, last term I was preparing for a biology exam, and I noticed that when I studied on my laptop, I kept checking messages and had to reread whole pages. When I switched to the printed notes, I finished each chapter faster and actually remembered more. That said, screens are useful for quick things, like looking up a word or watching a short video. But for deep reading, I think paper is still better.

The answer gives a clear view in the first sentence, then one main reason, concentration, supported by a specific personal example. It briefly acknowledges the other side and returns to the view at the end. At about 100 words in natural spoken style, it fills 45 seconds without padding.

## A method for Take an Interview

1. 1
### Answer in your first sentence
Say your view or your direct answer straight away. There is no time for background.
2. 2
### Give one main reason
One developed reason is stronger than three listed ones. Say why, in a sentence or two.
3. 3
### Add a specific example
Use a short story from your own life or someone you know: when, what happened, what the result was. Details fill the time naturally.
4. 4
### Wrap up if time remains
Mention the other side briefly or restate your view in a sentence. Stop cleanly rather than trailing off.
5. 5
### Practise with a timer and no planning
Hear or read a question and start speaking within a couple of seconds. Record yourself and listen for long pauses and repeated errors.

## Traps to avoid

* Starting with background about the topic instead of answering the question.
* Stopping at 20 seconds with an answer that has no example.
* Using a memorised template that does not fit the question asked.
* Listing several reasons without developing any of them.
* Filling the time by repeating the same point in different words.
